Summary:
In a joint statement to Commissioner Dan Jørgensen, leading actors from the European energy efficiency sector call on the European Commission to reinforce its support for the industry through a stable regulatory framework, improved access to finance, a strong skills agenda, accelerated electrification, and targeted support for local manufacturing. As one of the EU’s most competitive and resilient sectors, energy efficiency contributes significantly to the Union’s climate goals, energy security, and affordability. The industry currently supports over 1.2 million direct jobs, operates more than 600 production sites across Europe, and generates an estimated annual turnover of €150 billion. The signatories urge the Commission to fully recognise the sector as a strategic industrial ecosystem and commit to structured dialogue to translate the Green Deal into tangible benefits for citizens, businesses, and national economies.
