EPS and European Construction Organisations
The EPS industry participates in dialogue on construction policy, technical requirements and regulatory developments. EUMEPS works with organisations including the European Insulation Platform, the European Association for ETICS (EAE), Construction Products Europe (CPE), European Plastics Converters (EuPC) and the Modern Building Alliance (MBA). These exchanges concern building performance, product requirements, safety and the role of construction materials in renovation and new-build projects.
The European Insulation Platform and the European Association for ETICS
The European Insulation Platform brings together stakeholders to discuss insulation, building renovation and building performance. Its work addresses the role of insulation as one element of the complete building envelope, alongside factors such as ventilation, solar protection, airtightness, installation and building use.
The European Association for ETICS provides a forum for technical dialogue on External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems. ETICS can incorporate EPS insulation, alongside adhesives, base coats, reinforcement and finishing layers. When correctly designed and installed, an ETICS with EPS can contribute to the thermal performance of an external wall. Actual energy use and environmental impacts depend on the complete building system and its specific use scenario.
These organisations support the exchange of technical information and good practice. Their work helps stakeholders consider insulation systems, product requirements and building-envelope design within the relevant European policy and regulatory context.
Compliance and Collaboration
Construction Products Europe and European Plastics Converters represent industry perspectives on construction-product and plastics policy. They contribute to discussions on product information, safety, standardisation and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Compliance with applicable requirements remains the responsibility of the relevant economic operators and must be assessed for each product and system.
The Modern Building Alliance contributes to policy discussions concerning modern building methods, fire safety and the regulatory framework for construction. As a member of CPE and EuPC, EUMEPS contributes the perspective of the EPS value chain to these discussions.
Building Dialogue for Europe’s Construction Sector
EUMEPS’s cooperation with the European Insulation Platform, EAE, CPE, EuPC and the Modern Building Alliance supports dialogue on technical information, building performance, safety and regulatory developments. EPS can be considered in construction projects where its technical characteristics meet the requirements of the application and the complete building system.
