The Modern Building Alliance (MBA) has announced an important leadership transition, marking a new phase in its development as a recognised Technical Centre of Excellence. Emanuela Gallo, EU Technical Affairs Manager at EUMEPS, has been nominated as Vice President, succeeding Peter Ayrey, who previously served as Vice Chair and made a significant contribution to the organisation’s growth and credibility.
Strengthening Strategic Direction for 2026
This appointment comes as the MBA rolls out its updated strategic vision for 2026. At a time when the construction sector is increasingly focused on sustainable, energy-saving, and climate-neutral solutions, the Alliance is reinforcing its role in delivering high-performance and resource-efficient approaches to building safety.
In her role at EUMEPS, Emanuela Gallo brings extensive expertise in EU policy and technical affairs, as well as a strong understanding of the insulation sector. Her appointment further strengthens the connection between MBA activities and broader European industry priorities, supporting innovative and circular economy-driven solutions across the built environment.
Recognising a Legacy of Commitment
The MBA has expressed its sincere appreciation to Peter Ayrey, who was also a very active EUMEPS member, chairing the Raw Materials Suppliers (RMS) group until the end of 2025, for his years of dedicated service. During his tenure, he played a key role in establishing the Alliance as a credible and trusted voice within the plastic insulation sector.
His efforts have contributed to a more efficient and scientifically grounded approach to building safety and insulation performance. This legacy provides a strong foundation for continued progress in promoting sustainable construction practices.
Advancing Building Safety and Sustainability
In her new role as Vice President, Emanuela Gallo will work closely with the MBA management team to reinforce the Alliance’s contribution to the EU’s fire safety and sustainability agenda. Her dual perspective—linking EUMEPS expertise with MBA’s technical work—will support the delivery of clear, science-based guidance and enhanced collaboration among stakeholders.

Commenting on her appointment, Emanuela Gallo stated:
“I am honoured to take on this role during such a transformative period for our industry. My goal is to ensure the MBA continues to provide the scientific clarity and collaborative platform our members need to thrive in a rapidly evolving policy environment.”
This leadership transition reflects the MBA’s commitment to maintaining a strong, innovative, and resource-efficient approach to building safety and insulation. With Emanuela Gallo, EU Technical Affairs Manager at EUMEPS, as Vice President, the Alliance is well-positioned to continue supporting its members and contributing to a more sustainable and energy-efficient built environment across Europe.
