“Bring your perspective to the table, ask questions, and challenge the status quo.”
Stephanie is a Head of Marketing & Communication at Austrotherm and she accept to be interviewed to share her
experiences in the EPS world.
Work and responsibilities
“My name is Stephanie Poller, and since 2024 I’m the Head of Marketing & Communications for the Austrotherm
Group. In my role, I’m responsible for shaping the brand, messaging, and communication strategy in Austria and
across our 13 countries. I’m passionate about highlighting the benefits of EPS as a climate-friendly material
along the entire value chain and about making our contribution to building a better, more sustainable future
visible to a broad audience.”
Biggest challenges and achievements in her career
“One of the biggest challenges — but also opportunities — when it comes to EPS is reaching a broad audience with
diverse interests through clear, targeted messages and activities. This cannot be achieved by a single player
alone, but requires a strong and collaborative network. A milestone in this direction has been the successful
launch of the EPSolutely recycling project in Austria in 2024 — a joint initiative with several key partners
from the EPS industry. This project marked an important step not only in developing and implementing a national
wide recycling process, but also in creating a unified communication strategy for this important cause — as one
team.
Coming from a B2C background I’ve always been focused on understanding the needs of different target audiences.
Entering the EPS industry in early 2024, I’ve seen how valuable it is to bring in fresh communication approaches
— and how essential it is to listen to a wide range of voices, both internally and externally, to truly make a
message resonate.”
A word of advice
“Be curious, be confident, and don’t be afraid to speak up. The EPS industry — like the broader construction and
manufacturing sector — is full of opportunities for women who want to make a real impact and bring fresh ideas,
especially in the field of communication.
My advice to young women: bring your perspective to the table, ask questions, and challenge the status quo.
There’s a growing awareness that diverse voices strengthen our industry — and your contribution matters. Don’t
wait to be invited into the conversation — step in, connect with others, and help shape the future of EPS.”
