Silvia is a Communications coordinator at AIPE Association and she accept to be interviewed to share her
experiences in the EPS world.
Work and responsibilities
“I am married and have a 13- year-old daughter. Since I had my daughter, I decided for a part-time employment. I
have been working in the EPS industry for over 20 years. I initially approached the EPS market by working in a
leading multinational chemical company as Sales Account Manager for the EPS Italian market. After this
professional experience, I started working for AIPE (EPS Italian National Association) as adviser in the
communication’s field. Nowadays, I support AIPE in the management and coordination of strategic and
institutional communication activities (e.g. relevant projects and events, creative communication campaign) and
in the development and implementation of corporate documentation to ensure consistent contents and Information
on EPS and its market. Insights. Furthermore, I oversee the AIPE's presence on social media platforms.”
Biggest challenges and achievements in her career
“What makes me proud today is that I have always lived changes as growth opportunities. I have always tried to
improve myself by learning new things by adding new competences to my acquired skills and knowledge, and by
putting myself on the line whenever an opportunity for professional and personal growth presented itself. I have
learned that teamwork, especially if the team is multicultural, leads to more creative and innovative outcomes
and to success solutions.”
A word of advice
“Good ideas, good will and skills know no gender differences and are always rewarded. The EPS sector includes
many different jobs. That’s why it can offer a wide range of opportunities and positions also for women. Anyway,
strong determination and strength are required to achieve successful and leading roles as it is not easy to
balance work and family.”
