“Open mind and resilience will get you far”
Liv Olsson is Sales Manager & Sustainable Business Development at BEWI and she accept to be interviewed to share
her experiences in the EPS world.
Work and responsibilities
“I started in the EPS industry 2019, working in the recycling division in BEWI. During that time, I got to be
involved in all parts of the business, from warehouse work to assisting the MD. In 2021, I moved to BEWI RAW in
the Netherlands and started as Junior Sustainability Specialist. End of 2024 I took over the role as sales
manager for the Nordic region and combine this with my role in sustainable business development. I'm really
grateful for the broad roles I've got the chance to take on since starting in the EPS industry, the great people
I have had the pleasure of learning from and the dynamic environment of the industry. Being part of the EUMEPS
community has been a great addition in my work. It gives insight into our industry and we tackle challenges
together. The collaboration within EUMEPS always amazes me, how we are a group of competitors working together
in challenging times!”
Biggest challenges and achievements in her career
“Both the biggest challenges and opportunities I have experienced are diversity of tasks I got the chance of
taking on. My years in the EPS industry have been a continuous learning experience which I'm grateful for, but
which also can be challenging. The EPS industry is heavily male-dominated, and being a young woman in the start
of your career is challenging. You need to be tough and dare to take space humbly in order to accelerate.”
A word of advice
“Be willing to take on every opportunity even if those are out of your comfort zone. Be eager to learn from
every experience and person, work and be a positive influence to the people around you. A positive mindset, open
mind and resilience will get you far!”
