“EPS industry is an inclusive environment”
Dr. Adela Lankl is Head of Sustainability and IMS and she accept to be interviewed to share her experiences in
the EPS world.
Work and responsibilities
“I am passionate about various topics relating to the circular economy, recycling and sustainable product
design. EPS is a wonderful material that can contribute to a future-oriented construction industry through its
properties and various applications. As a sustainability manager, I see it as my mission to accompany the
process of manufacturing EPS products and to help shape this process while taking ethical and environmental
aspects into account. At the same time, however, it is also relevant to inform the public about the advantages
of energy-efficient refurbishment (including with EPS) and the recycling options that are available.”
Biggest challenges and achievements in her career
“My academic career did not lead me to the EPS industry in a linear/natural way. As a political scientist, I
first had to find my place and my area of responsibility in the construction industry. It is all the more
fulfilling to see that topics that are close to my heart are becoming more and more relevant and that I am able
to make an active contribution.”
A word of advice
“Don’t be afraid and don’t be shy. My experience has shown me that the EPS industry is an inclusive environment
in which more and more women of all ages and with different professional backgrounds can find their place..”
