EUMEPS is pleased to welcome Schlaadt Group as a new Converter member. The company is based in Lorch am Rhein, Germany, and brings more than a century of experience in materials processing, with a strong focus on packaging and technical parts made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) and other particle foams.
Founded in 1904 as a timber business, Schlaadt has evolved through several phases of industrial development, from parquet manufacturing in the 1950s to becoming one of the first companies licensed to process Styropor® in 1960. Today, it operates five production facilities in Germany and one in the United States, employing more than 320 people.
Schlaadt processes a range of materials, including EPS, EPP, Neopor®, and copolymers, delivering moulded parts and cut solutions for a wide variety of industrial uses. Its in-house recycling capacity and continued investment in innovation enable the company to meet rising expectations on quality and sustainability.
Schlaadt is certified under ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment), and ISO 50001 (energy management), and applies continuous improvement processes at all its sites. The company also adheres to the GKV Code of Conduct for the plastics processing industry, reinforcing its commitment to responsible business practices.
As a manufacturer working across packaging, protection, and insulation, Schlaadt adds both technical expertise and production capacity to the EUMEPS network, particularly in the field of protective packaging, a key application of EPS.

“By joining EUMEPS, we aim to work closely with other stakeholders in our industry and actively contribute to ongoing processes around recycling and product development. We also believe that greater focus should be placed on the political and public perception of our products. We see significant value in being part of a European network that is committed to practical solutions and long-term collaboration.”
— Walter Hitziger, CEO of Schlaadt group.
