A Steady Year of Work and Cooperation

In a context marked by economic uncertainty and evolving EU policy debates, EUMEPS remained committed to its core mission: representing the EPS industry through advocacy, technical expertise, and structured cooperation. 2025 saw the election of a new President, the launch of major initiatives, and the continued work of a dedicated Secretariat. Our efforts were guided by shared values, reinforced by new partnerships, and supported by the engagement of our members. This overview highlights the milestones and transitions that shaped the association's work over the past year.
Leadership, Continuity and Governance
2025 was another demanding year for the EPS industry in Europe. The sector continued to face economic pressure, particularly from non-compliant imports and reduced investment in construction. Despite this context, EUMEPS remained focused on long-term advocacy, technical engagement, and structured communication, thus ensuring that the role of EPS was represented in key policy debates.
At the General Assembly in April, Agata Gladysz-Stanczyk was unanimously elected President of EUMEPS, the first woman to hold this position in the association’s history. A new Board of Directors was also confirmed, ensuring institutional continuity. The association also adopted a set of shared values, developed with input from members, and formally endorsed at our General Assembly in November.
Partnerships and Institutional Engagement
EUMEPS’s external presence remained strong throughout the year. The association took part in several high-level events, including the Clean Industrial Deal Summit in Antwerp, where EUMEPS was represented alongside industry leaders and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Cooperation also deepened with long-standing partners such as Plastics Europe, CEFIC, and Construction Products Europe, particularly on files related to industrial competitiveness and product standards.
Two publications were launched, strengthening structured engagement with EU institutions and policy experts. Meanwhile, at the CIRPLEX Fair in Klagenfurt, EUMEPS launched the Women of EUMEPS campaign, highlighting diversity and inclusion across the EPS value chain.
Transitions and Team Contributions
The Secretariat evolved in 2025. After many years of service, Annette Schäfer stepped down, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and trusted coordination. The ETICS portfolio was taken over by Bianca Sereinig, who shared:
“EPS offers high compressive strength, low weight, and many more advantages. It also has a wide range of applications, supported by various product types. […] My focus will be to communicate this diversity and these technical benefits to others.”

The year also confirmed the strength of the internal team. Lea Salihovic led work on the PPWR, REACH, and two life cycle assessments. Emanuela Gallo coordinated successful fire safety tests on PV panels. Jakub Stefaniak supported the Clean Industrial Deal process and technical standardisation. Ingrid Morin strengthened communications with new campaigns and publications, including EUMEPS Talks and Women of EUMEPS.
As the year closes, cautious signs of recovery are emerging, but the outlook remains mixed. EUMEPS will continue to focus on evidence, dialogue, and shared commitment to support a stable, future-ready framework for the EPS industry in Europe.
New Members Joins the Associations
EUMEPS welcomed a new member, Schlaadt, in 2025. This addition comes at a time when the EPS industry continues to face economic pressure and regulatory uncertainty—making it all the more significant that new companies recognise the value of coordinated advocacy and shared technical resources.
